Where cycling and wildlife come together
Adventure without rush, culture and wildlife in one
15 days of pure adventure through Tanzania's wildest terrain
Cycle in the footsteps of Tanzania's greatest tribe
35 days of adventure through the heart of Africa
From the wildlife-rich savannahs of Kenya to the open plains of Tanzania. From the stunning lakes of Malawi to the thundering power of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
We ride in places where few tourists ever go. That's our choice - and you feel it every single day.
A cycling trip through Africa. For many people, that sounds adventurous and intimidating in equal measure. Do you need to be a trained long-distance cyclist? Do you have to wild-camp with zero comfort? Do you need to already know the terrain? Anyone searching for a cycling trip in Kenya for beginners mostly finds trips built for seasoned cyclists, or trips where cycling is just "a nice add-on" to a classic 4x4 safari. Mystery Fields sits right in between: a first cycling holiday in Africa that takes you seriously as a cyclist, without requiring peak fitness.
In 2007, I cycled from Nairobi to Victoria Falls. 2,000 kilometres, straight through the heart of Africa. That ride is the reason Adventure Bike Trails exists today. Twenty years later, I'm doing it again — and this time I'm inviting you to come with me.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the world and a must-visit destination during any trip to Tanzania. As part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area—a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979—this unique volcanic caldera attracts thousands of visitors each year. During our Tanzanian Adventure Bike Trails, we specifically include a rest day to explore this awe-inspiring location and immerse ourselves in its incredible biodiversity and landscapes.
On a bike you see more, feel more and experience the real life of the country. No tourist bus.
Maximum 16 to 35 participants per adventure. So everyone gets the personal attention the adventure deserves.
After every tough ride you fall into a lodge or camp under the stars. You choose the intensity.
Giraffes, zebras, rhinos, flamingos - you don't see them through a window, but right beside your trail.
With Joel as local partner you reach places other tourists never see. That's what Africa really feels like.
First aid on the road, support vehicle, breakdown assistance and always a team member nearby. You enjoy, we take care.

Three people, one shared passion: showing Africa as it really is.

"If you love cycling and nature, this is something you must do at least once in your life! Actually, twice! Host Siegi is absolutely great. And don't worry if you're just a regular cyclist - you can handle this. A perfect combo of cycling and safari, with my daughter along for the ride. What more could you want?"
"Took part in the Kenya Bike Trail. Excellent organisation, beautiful surroundings, a great sporting challenge, accommodation at idyllic places with all the comfort you need, and a wonderful group of participants. In short: highly recommended!"
"Trip of a lifetime! Siegfried is a fantastic host and an outstanding tour leader. We spent 6 days MTB-ing through the Kenyan countryside and truly enjoyed the stunning landscapes, the abundant wildlife, and the excellent accommodation. Highly recommended!"
