Where cycling and wildlife come together
Picture this: you're pedaling through Hells Gate National Park, and suddenly a herd of zebra crosses your path. No fence, no tour bus — just you, your bike, and the freedom of Kenya.
The Kenya Bike Trail OG is no ordinary cycling trip. This is a safari on two wheels, where every day brings a new landscape — from the dramatic gorges of Hells Gate to the vast savannahs where giraffes and gazelles cross your path. You'll ride through elephant country, where the tension is real: will we spot them today? One thing's certain: out here, nature is in charge.
Hard days, real recovery.
You ride a mountain bike across a mix of unpaved and paved terrain, averaging around 90 km a day over 6 riding days — 556 km in total. This isn't a relaxed cycling holiday; it's a serious adventure for experienced riders. And in the evening? No tent, but a luxury lodge. No hard ground, but a proper bed, a hot shower, and sometimes even a pool overlooking the wild.
The best part along the way? The villages you pass through. This is where the community comes alive: people who greet you with a smile, share their stories, and make you feel at home in the wilderness. This isn't just a cycling trip. This is Kenya, experienced the way few people get to see it.
8 days, the same intensity, less time needed.
The OG is the heart of the adventure, built for a solid week away: 6 riding days, 8 days in total. Not a shortened version of something bigger — a complete journey in its own right. Want to get to know Kenya even better? We're happy to add on a safari or extra days, so you can build a longer trip around the cycling tour.
Who is this trip for?
This cycling trip is made for experienced riders who won't shy away from a physical challenge, but who won't compromise on comfort in the evening either — and who can't free up two weeks. Want more time in Kenya and a new region to explore? Take a look at the Kenya Bike Trail XL. Have a week to spare and want to experience Kenya's nature at its purest? Then the OG is your trip.
