This stage of The Legendary Trail starts in Karatu, right at the gateway to the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. Want to see these legendary plains up close before you get in the saddle? A three-day safari can be booked as a pre-trip add-on.

From stage 1, we head straight into the rugged, unpaved savanna — adventure waits around every corner. We steer clear of the well-trodden tourist routes and cross Tanzania mostly on dirt roads, cutting through a country few travelers have ever seen from a bike.

We sleep at village schools and churches, explore local communities, and reach places where a tourist has rarely, if ever, set foot. This ride is built for the true adventurer — for those who love spending time just outside their comfort zone.

We take care of the backup support and the daily luxury of a proper meal. What more could anyone dream of?

Eight riding days, no rest day: 900 kilometers and 10,000 meters of elevation gain, pure adventure. You fly in via Kilimanjaro Airport and depart via Dar es Salaam.
